Pete Norman
Pete Norman served his mastering apprenticeship at the Comand Studios in Piccadilly before moving on to CBS studios in Whitfield Street from 1972-1974. He was a mainstay in London 's RCA Custom Recording suite during the remainder of the seventies.
Projects during this time included work from the portfolios of legendary rock artists Tangerine Dream, Mike Oldfield, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Manfred Mann's Earthband and Yes. There was even time to cut classical works for Charles Gerhardt & the National Philharmonic Orchestra and James Galway.
In the early eighties, Pete moved across the Atlantic to the world renowned McClear Place Mastering Studio's in Toronto, Canada . During the next ten years, Pete plied his craft on works from across the whole musical spectrum, taking in Jazz, Rock, Folk, Disco & Classical.
Returning to the UK in the 90's, Pete joined Heathmans Mastering in 1996
and has continued to extend his repertoire by mastering everything from
underground dance music to Top 5 Chart Hits. Over 30 years and many gold
discs on from the Whitfield Street days, Pete is delivering quality
mastering for acts as diverse as the Notorious B.I.G, Franz Ferdinand,
Tidy Trax, Dangermouse & Artic Monkeys whilst handling classic reissues
from Def Jam, Motown, The Stooges and RCA.
