Shane McEnhill
Shane McHenill has over 15 years experience mastering vinyl for a host of musical styles. His training commenced amidst the heady days of the dance explosion of the late 80's and early 90's. The mastering experience gained here and after has sealed his reputation as one of the best cutters of dance music in the business. Shane has always held music in high regard. His immersion in the urban beats of his youth led him to door of Konk Studios at the age of 16. Observing time honoured tradition, Shane began as a runner and observed the activities surrounding him. The studio was owned by The Kinks and this lofty association brought Shane into contact with the best bands or the day. Critically, he was there first hand when the art of dance remixes really took off. Transferring to Livingston Studios, Shane was hands on with acts of the day such as the Soup Dragons, Coldcut and Yazz and picked up masses of experience. Now 18, and with knowledge, experience and confidence in his pockets, Shane started at Tape 1 Mastering Studios. Although his official duties were as a copy engineer, he found his way into the vinyl mastering studios and quickly became hooked. In the UK , dance music was enjoying a momentous uplift in popularity and splintering into many intriguing sub genres. Shane was in the right place to tackle hip hop, US & UK house, hardcore, jungle and drum & bass. When Shane joined Heathmans in 1991, he had two successful record labels in tow and a burgeoning reputation for being the man who can. Sixteen years later, he's even better!
